ABOUT

Ashley Courtney BA (Hons), Dip Arch, RIBA, AABC

I have over fifteen years experience as a chartered architect having worked in London and Cambridge. I have worked on a variety of building types, including both speculative and high quality residential developments, colleges, schools, and health care.

Having worked on a wide variety of building types I have accrued a broad knowledge of the construction industry, and planning system. I have been instrumental in obtaining planning permission and listed building consents in challenging contexts.

I have a passion for design, and attention to detail, whether it be in a modern or traditional style.

However, I also have worked extensively on historic and listed buildings, and have a particular skill in designing in appropriate traditional styles to fit harmoniously into an existing context. I welcome the chance to involve craftsmanship, whether it is simply choosing the right mortar, or discussing ornate carving with a joiner.

I am an accredited architect on the building conservation register (AABC), and an approved architect for the Dioceses of St Edmundsbury & Ispwich, St Albans, Peterborough, Ely, and Oxford.

I aim to give a personal and dedicated service to my clients, finding the most elegant and clever solutions to meet their needs.
