Masonry Repairs
The Church of St Mary works comprised of urgent masonry repairs to the west wall of the nave following a number of flint falls. The copings to the nave roof were also out of alignment and the kneeler stone had also become displaced. The repairs involved:
- Taking down the copings and rebuilding the kneeler stone.
- New lead soakers were introduced and tile listing to ensure a watertight abutment detail.
- The west wall was then repointed, and some sections of the face rebuilt, in a hot lime mortar taking care to match the colour and texture of the original mortar.
